Lower Day Cottages are situated on the slopes of the valley of Ape Dale directly overlooking the Wenlock Edge. The location is entirely rural with magnificent panoramic views. The area is very quiet with no street lighting or traffic noise to disturb the tranquility for our visitors’ relaxation and providing the ideal opportunity for bird-watching and other country pursuits.
The Jack Mytton Way runs along the Wenlock Edge offering the accessibility of up to 100 miles of walking, horse riding and cycling through some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain. The Long Mynd at Church Stretton and the Stiperstones beyond also offer a great variety of circular walks ideal for the hill-walking enthusiast combining the day with a pub lunch or a picnic.
We are centrally located for those wishing to visit the market towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow and The Ironbridge Gorge Visitor Centre and close enough for day trips to mid and north Wales.
Our local towns of Much Wenlock (4½ miles) and Church Stretton (9 miles) are a short drive away and provide a full range of small supermarkets, petrol stations, shops, prize-winning butchers and farmers markets selling local produce. There are many interesting places to visit, lovely countryside and a good selection of high quality Public Houses and Restaurants within easy reach.
